Humane AI Pin launches a campaign aimed at replacing phones.

2023 key election results for Seattle, King County. Humane AI Pin has launched its campaign to replace phones.

A new AI-packed pin that can be worn as an accessory aims to serve as a phone replacement. Developed by Humane, the AI Pin can be activated through voice commands, touch input, or gestures. In addition, it features a laser projector and utilizes magnetic clips for easy attachment to clothing. The device is set to be available for order starting November 16. Humane, founded by former Apple design and engineering team members Imran Chaudhri and Bethany Bongiorno, has garnered significant attention in the tech and AI community. Priced at $699 with a $24-a-month subscription, the AI Pin includes unlimited data and phone calls. T-Mobile, Microsoft, and OpenAI are among the notable partners for phone service and AI technology. The CEO of Humane, Bethany Bongiorno, expressed a commitment to keeping the device's pricing accessible while also striving for continuous improvements in cost efficiency. The AI Pin aims to seamlessly integrate AI into daily life, enabling users to interact with the device through various means such as voice, touchpad, gestures, or object recognition. It eliminates the need for a traditional smartphone and features a screenless design, serving as a smartphone replacement. Notably, Humane's founders and team members have extensive backgrounds at Apple, having contributed to iconic products such as the iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Humane has attracted significant funding of $230 million to date, with support from high-profile backers including Microsoft, OpenAI co-founder Sam Altman, and Tiger Global Management. It is worth mentioning that other companies, like OpenAI in collaboration with LoveFrom, are also exploring AI hardware development in this evolving industry. Despite the competition, Humane welcomes the excitement and interest surrounding this space.
